Hire-Into-Range Program
 The Compensation Unit oversees the Statewide Hire-Into-Range policy. This policy allows State Agencies and Departments to hire new employees into State Classified jobs above the usual incoming Step 1 pay rate under very special circumstances as outlined in the Policy and Procedures Manual, Section 12, # 12.2. Requests to hire-into-range are evaluated based upon the exceptional qualifications and experience of candidates as well as the maintenance of pay equity with current employees with similar jobs, qualifications, and experience within the agency or department.

NOTE: A form is currently "Under Construction" by the Compensation Unit to simplify this process.
