| Employees who want to work an alternate schedule (i.e., four 10-hour days, flex time, or alternate work schedule) must complete the Alternate Work Schedule Form and submit it to his/her supervisor. The supervisor may approve, modify, or deny the request. If approved, the request should be submitted to the next level manager and the Department's Personnel Officer. Once approved by the employee's department, the request is sent to the Department of Human Resources Employee Relations Division for review, approval, and determination of an appropriate overtime category. The request is then and forwarded to the VSEA, Inc., for concurrence. Once approved by all parties, the department personnel administrator processes a personnel action to change the schedule, overtime category, or other factors as appropriate, effective with the start of the next pay period.
The alternate schedule may be cancelled at any time by either the employee or the employee's appointing authority or designee.
