ADULT, INFANT AND CHILD CPR & STANDARD FIRST AID

::This course is designed to train individuals in the work place to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations, and to care for sudden illness and injury. Certificates will be issued by the American Red Cross upon satisfactory completion.

CPR RE-CERTIFICATION

::This course is designed to re-certify individuals in CPR. It provides individuals the setting to recognize and care for life-threatening emergencies including choking and cardiac arrest. Demonstration of skills outlined in CPR is required. Certification will be issued by the American Red Cross upon satisfactory completion. To attend, you must have a current CPR card.

DEFENSIVE DRIVING

::The National Safety Council's Defensive Driving Course is an internationally accepted accident prevention program for improved driving performance. In accord with the Governor's Fleet Safety Executive Order No. 04-93 some state employees are required to complete a defensive driving course. Topics such as air bags, child safety seats and road rage will be covered.

State employees required to take this course include: employees who operate a state vehicle and employees who operate their private vehicle for greater than 2000 reimbursable miles annually. This course is optional for employees who do not fall into the above categories. Employees who work in Public Safety or who have taken this course in the last ten years are exempt. ::Designed specifically for those planning to retire within five to ten years, this one-day workshop addresses pre-retirement issues, concerns and options. Topics will include financial planning, tax considerations, legal affairs and estate planning, Social Security and state employee retirement benefits.
