Accommodations in the Application Process
 Job Application
If you are unable to use the on-line application, you may contact the Recruitment Services Division to schedule an appointment for assistance with the application process.

If you are not able to visit the Recruitment Services Division in Waterbury, you may visit a Career Resource Center at your local Department of Labor (VDOL) office for assistance. To find the office nearest you, call 802-828-4000 or visit http://www.labor.vermont.gov/.

Mandatory Interview Option
Any applicant with a qualifying disability may request mandatory interview status. Under this option if you meet the minimum education and experience qualifications of the position for which you are applying and your name is referred to the hiring official, you must be offered an interview. If this accommodation is approved for you, the Recruitment Services staff will inform the hiring authority or designee that the interview is required.

Request for Mandatory Interview Option

To request mandatory interview status, you will need to complete the Request for Mandatory Interview form. This form may be downloaded (see below) or you may contact the Labor Relations Division to have a copy sent to you. You must complete and return this form (by mail). The information gathered will help us document that you are an individual with a qualifying disability. Any information that you provide about your disability is strictly confidential and will be kept separate from your employment application. If you need help filling out this request form, please contact the Labor Relations Division at 802-828-3454.

Once your Request for Mandatory Interview form is received it will be reviewed. If approved, you will be granted mandatory status effective on that date. From that point forward, each time you apply for a position and you meet the minimum education and experience qualifications and your name is referred to the hiring official, it will be noted on this referral list that you have mandatory interview status. The hiring authority is required to offer you an interview. Please understand that this does not guarantee that you will be offered the job.

Job Interview
If you need accommodation in the job interview process you should communicate your needs directly to the hiring authority at the time you are invited to interview.
