Find Your Path
The State of Vermont offers challenging growth and development opportunities, whether your journey is on one path or many paths along the way. Not only is the State of Vermont one of the largest employers in the state, the number of career choices is second to none.

Opportunities for Change Under One Umbrella
Since the State of Vermont offers a variety of career fields, employees can advance within a certain field or can make a career change, while remaining under the same umbrella of a single employer. This allows for change without sacrificing benefits and service time.

Employment as a Stepping Stone or a Second Career
For many people who may not be attracted to a "lifelong" career in government, the State of Vermont can also be seen as an opportunity to gain significant experience early in one's career or as a second career later in life.

Tuition Reimbursement
The State of Vermont offers college tuition reimbursement program, which may cover up to 80% of the cost for up to 12 credits a year.

Career Growth
Job related training is available for employees at all levels, as well as specialized supervisory and managerial training. There are also career-advising services to help employees explore future opportunities within State government. This includes assistance with career planning, assessment of ongoing training needs, and help with resume writing and interviewing techniques.
