Find Out About Job Opportunities
Finding out about job opportunities with the State of Vermont has never been easier. Visit our web site www.vtstatejobs.info and you'll find an enhanced, searchable database of job postings, which is updated daily. Here you'll find all classified job vacancies currently under recruitment. Vacancies are open for application a minimum of 10 working days, although many are open for a longer period. You can use the search capabilities to narrow your job search based on occupational category, location(s) and agencies/departments where you are willing to work. In addition, you can search for specific job titles or keywords in the job announcement (e.g., find all announcements with the word "nurse" in it).
Apply for a Position
Once you find a job posting in which you are interested, you should review the minimum education and experience qualifications to see if you possess these requirements. You may then add the job to your “job basket” and apply online! The online application system will allow you to build your job application. This application contains your general demographic, education and experience information, and provides you the option to attach or paste in your resume or cover letter. Your application needs to be completed only once and may be updated as needed. You may complete an application without applying for a specific job at that time. Once your application is completed, you will be prepared to apply the next time you see a job posting that is of interest to you.
When you apply for jobs in your “job basket” you may be asked to answer questions about your education and experience. Once your application is submitted, you will receive an e-mail confirmation that it has been received.
What's Next?
The hiring official reviews the pool of applicants and will contact you if you are selected for an interview. All applicants will be notified once the position has been filled.
Probationary Period
Once hired, you begin work in a probationary period, usually lasting six months. This test period is used to evaluate your ability to learn and perform the job. With the successful completion of the probationary period, you acquire permanent employment status and all the benefits of an employee of the State of Vermont.
The State of Vermont is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
