| Overview
Internships are a powerful tool to enhance an academic education. Many undergraduate and graduate students participate in or are required to fulfill internships as part of their course of study. An Internship Opportunities With the State of Vermont bulletin board has been designed for easy access by students from Vermont colleges and universities who are interested in public service careers or work experience with public sector organizations.
State of Vermont agencies and departments can provide meaningful work that is both challenging and interesting to students. In addition, a professional sponsor provides the student with knowledge, support and training to fulfill the objectives of the internship. Students gain valuable work experience, academic credit, references and exposure to future career options. In return, the agency or department benefits from students completing significant projects for them as well as enhancing the possibility of attracting talented students to public service careers in the future.
The Department of Human Resources and the Snelling Center for Government are collaborating to promote this program. The key contacts listed on the bulletin board should be consulted for more detailed information not listed on the bulletin board.
